  • American bass-baritone Craig Colclough is firmly establishing himself as one of the most imaginative singers of his generation, with captivating stage presence. Highlights in the 2019/20 season include a return to LA Opera as the title role The Marriage of Figaro, title role Macbeth for Opera Vlaanderen with performances in Ghent and Luxembourg, and Bishop Dyer Riders of the Purple Stage for Arizona Opera. He will perform Don Pizzaro Fidelio in a concert tour with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel.

    On the concert platform, highlights include Timur Turandot in concert with the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela under the baton of Gustavo Dudamel, Dottore Grenvil La traviata with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, Beethoven Ninth Symphony with the Orange County Philharmonic Society, and appearances with Israeli Symphony and California Philharmonic orchestras. Conductors and directors Colclough has collaborated with include James Conlon, Edward Gardner, Ramon Tebar, Richard Jones, Woody Allen and Daniel Kramer.


    Colclough began his career at the Los Angeles Opera, appearing with the company in various roles including Bosun Billy Budd, before joining Florida Grand Opera’s Young Artist Studio and subsequently becoming a Filene Young Artist at the Wolf Trap Opera Company. During this time Colclough also covered the title role Falstaff for both San Francisco Opera and Los Angeles Opera.
