“Dealing with quirky humour and one of the most violent lyrical works, the most depressing of the repertoire, with its share of rape and murder, is the challenge that Andreas Homoki brilliantly met.”
“Time will tell how the Zurich company fares under his leadership, but judging from his fascinating staging of Shostakovich’s ‘Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk,’ it is in good artistic hands.”
New York Times

They share an intelligence, intensity of focus and no-nonsense demeanor that directs all energy toward the music’s fullest realization…Thomas Adès’s solo piano homage to John Dowland, 'Darknesse Visible,' was played with a subtlety that belied the richness of touch and nuance in Haefliger’s performance."
